There are three easy steps for developing a Post-Hip-Hop Small Group:

1. Assemble a core group of youth and ask them if they will invite others from school, sports, or their neighborhood to participate in a Small Group. It’s vital to find a group leader and five to twelve young people to participate. Please feel free to incorporate music and food.

2. Once everyone in the group has a copy of this book, begin by reading the hip-hop drama The Chronicles of Jamal: Hoops, Hip-Hop & Holy Hustling. The story’s protagonist is a young man named Jamal, who is dealing with getting his girlfriend pregnant, losing a basketball scholarship, and the death of his brother. Jamal finds himself doing jury duty and facing having to make some critical decisions about his life. The story is divided into twenty parts, with each part illustrating one of twenty principles. Each principle is further explained in the Study Guide in the second part of the book.

3. After reading the narrative, go through the Study Guide together with the Small Group. There are eleven small group activities throughout the Study Guide, plenty of Bible studies, as well as additional activities for the group to do together.
